“Adopting SAFe has set in motion the skill development and mindset for successful organizational change even as we scale to new programs, Release Trains, and people.” —Gary Dawson, Assistant Director, Solutions Delivery For organizations operating in highly regulated industries, the transition from Waterfall to Agile adds an additional layer of risk to what is already a daunting undertaking. Rapid and vast change, if not done properly and with cross-organizational collaboration, has the potential to be.
Hi Folks, When we released SAFe Version 4.0 last January (seems like forever ago in the lifetime of SAFe), we also introduced the ‘Implementing 1,2,3 Tab’ to provide our first published guidance on how to implement SAFe. That was sound advice, and it served well as basic guidance to implement SAFe. Many successful implementations followed, as you can see from Case Studies. But we all know it takes more than that. How does one identify.
“ … this has improved the motivation of the team members. Going to work is more fun when there’s less confusion and less waste. And motivated people do better work, so it’s a positive cycle! Another impact we’ve seen is that other parts of LEGO visit the meeting, get super inspired, and start exploring how to implement some of these principles and practices in their own department. In fact, agile is spreading like a virus.
“Philips is continuously driving to develop high-quality software in a predictable, fast and Agile way. SAFe addresses this primary goal, as well as offering these further benefits: reduced time to market and improved quality, stronger alignment across geographically distributed multi-disciplinary teams, and collaboration across teams to deliver meaningful value to customers with reduced cycle time.” —Sundaresan Jagadeesan, Program Manager, Philips Electronic India Limited How do you improve quality and reduce release cycle time by two-thirds?.
Hi Folks, Some interesting SAFe applications: At the US FAA: ESC Leads a Cultural Transformation and at Capital One bank: How Capital One Became a Leading Digital Player Stay SAFe! (while flying or banking, or both at the same time) –Dean and the Framework team
As we continually improve SAFe to better meet the needs of our customers, there comes a time when it’s no longer practical to support older versions of the Framework. This is part of any technology product’s lifecycle, and it is no different with SAFe. On December 30, 2016, all SAFe 3.0 courseware and materials will be retired. As a result, the SAFe 3.0 website (v3.scaledagileframework.com) will redirect to the 4.0 Framework site, and 3.0 courseware will.
Hi Folks, This ‘Highlights’ series captures the SAFe news and activities that haven’t been covered in other posts, but provide real value to the community. Here’s the latest roundup—a mix of new perspectives, understanding, and practical steps for successful implementation of the Framework. November Scaled Agile Insider This in-depth newsletter from Scaled Agile features major SAFe announcements, as well as books, articles, and videos that support the SAFe community. Besides this blog, it’s a good.
Two short weeks ago, over 400 attendees from 17 countries trekked to Colorado for the first SAFe Summit, making it the largest gathering of its kind to focus exclusively on SAFe and its community of practice. It was an inspiring moment in SAFe’s history, humbling for those of us who have a hand in building the Framework, and one that we hope will have a long-lasting positive impact on those who attended. Given SAFe’s maturity.
“We’re delivering faster with greater quality and less manpower—resulting in substantial financial benefits from the teams that have adopted Agile to date. We expect to double our adoption of Agile this year.” —Patty Sheehan, AZ Agile Cultural Change Lead and Coach Change doesn’t come easily for many organizations, especially at global, highly-regulated enterprises. But in our latest case study, AstraZeneca proves that it’s possible and well worth the effort. When AstraZeneca (AZ) began implementing SAFe,.
Hi Folks, We had an excellent session at last night’s Scaled Agile Meetup in Milwaukee. Thanks to my hosts at Northwest Mutual (Jill, Sarah and others) and Icon Technology (Stella) for putting on such a good show. We had about 300 people registered. I presented a new talk on Essential SAFe, a topic that is near and dear to our hearts (and yes, to some future update to SAFe 4.0). You can download the presentation below. And special.
