SAFe 4.0 Product Manager/Product Owner Course is Now GA!

Events SAFe Updates

Effective and continuous delivery of value through execution of Program Increments (PIs) is a hallmark of successful SAFe programs. Product Managers and Product Owners help drive that value by defining and sequencing the team and program backlogs. To succeed, they must have the knowledge and training needed to perform effectively in a SAFe environment.

To this end, we are happy to announce the release of a new SAFe 4.0 PM/PO course with certification. This course will enable the PM/PO team to effectively navigate their role in a SAFe Enterprise, and provide the tools needed to support product development flow and continuous value delivery.

The course is based on the lessons we’ve learned from years of working with PMs and POs as they launch, maintain, learn and adapt through Agile Release Train (ART) execution. After attending this course, PMs and POs will be able to:

  • Connect the core Lean-Agile principles and values to their individual contributions
  • Take an economic view when prioritizing their backlogs and executing PI
  • Identify PM/PO responsibilities within a SAFe implementation
  • Contribute to portfolio content
  • Integrate Solution delivery in complex environments
  • Drive customer value as a Product Manager
  • Increase value delivery at the Team level as a Product Owner
  • Engage with stakeholders
  • Build and grow Communities of Practice to further their knowledge of their own disciplines
  • Take the exam to achieve SAFe PMPO Certification

Individuals that would benefit from this course include: Product Managers, Product Line Managers, Product Owners, Business Owners, and Business Analysts. Others include Solution Managers, Portfolio Managers, Program Managers, Architects, PMO personnel, and Process Leads.

Attendees of the SAFe 4.0 PM/PO course should meet the following prerequisites: Leading SAFe, SAFe Live Lessons, or equivalent SAFe implementation experience.

Visit the SAFe 4.0 PM/PO course calendar for a public class near you.

We look forward to seeing you in class.

Be SAFe!

    Hi,
I would like to know the following w.r.t SAFe 4.0 PM/PO Course:
    1. There are only 2 classes (June/Sep) in the US this year for this certification course. Are you likely to schedule more classes in the coming months (July/Aug/Oct)? If yes, by when are you likely to publish a calendar for these course?
    2. As an SPC, can I deliver this course either internally (within our organization) or externally (for public participants)? Or do I need to go through some sort of additional ‘Train-the-Trainer’ course?
    3. As an SPC, can I simply pay for the relevant materials of this course and deliver the certified training? If yes, can you share more details about this choice?

    Thanks and regards,
    Manju

      Greetings Manju,

Thank you for your interest in the SAFe 4.0 PM/PO certification course. Right now, these are the only two public classes we have scheduled. Partners have a few more, and are likely to schedule additional public classes in the future, so please come back and check the schedule often. If you have a specific location of interest, please let us know so that we can capture the need and consider other locations. There’s also the opportunity to come onsite as well.

As a SPC, you have the opportunity to deliver the course internally and publicly. In order qualify to teach the PM/PO 4.0 course, you must upgrade to a SPC4 (which includes watching the upgrade videos, studying for and passing the SPC4 exam. Visit the link here: http://scaledagile.com/safe4/), and then do the same for the new PM/PO 4.0 class as well. Your Scaled Agile Community portal has learning paths and supporting materials for both educational journeys.

For more detailed information on the learning paths and licensing of our courseware, please email support@scaledagile.com. They’ll make sure you have access to the portal, and all the information you need to license and prepare to teach the class.

      Cheers and best wishes!

      –Jennifer
