Hello Folks, We’ve just returned from our first Regional SAFe Summit in Frankfurt, Germany. I hope to provide an update on that fairly soon. It’s a busy time but we’re good at multitasking and I wanted to share a couple of new thought leadership items that We’ve found in the SAFe community. Hello everyone, Context Matters – a Scaled Agile Gold Partner – recently invited us to cosponsor the 9th Agile Australia conference in Sydney. Partners Em Campbell-Pretty and Mark Richards, both of whom are SPCTs and SAFe Fellows, helped gather several executives from some of Australia’s most successful SAFe implementations for a roundtable discussion of the challenges and successes they’ve experienced ‘in the trenches.’ The comprehensive panel discussion has been posted to Em’s Adventures in Scaling.
Recently, I heard from my colleague and long-time collaborator, Juha-Markus Aalto. Back when we were in the Agile working group trenches at Nokia, Juha-Markus was responsible for some of the initial, critical thinking behind what became SAFe. Specifically, he helped define the “requirements metamodel”, which are the elements and relationships throughout the important system definition artifacts in the Framework. Matt Kortering, a UX Specialist at Universal Mind, recently shared his experiences about SAFe in his blog post “How UX fits within a SAFe environment.” Matt is currently serving as a UX Architect for one of Universal Mind’s larger clients, along with several of his colleagues (over 8 UX team members). Originally, Matt and his team were skeptical about how UX would work within SAFe. The framework has guidance about UX but lacked the detail.
