Essential SAFe at Milwaukee Scaled Agile Meetup
Hi Folks,
We had an excellent session at last night’s Scaled Agile Meetup in Milwaukee. Thanks to my hosts at Northwest Mutual (Jill, Sarah and others) and Icon Technology (Stella) for putting on such a good show. We had about 300 people registered. I presented a new talk on Essential SAFe, a topic that is near and dear to our hearts (and yes, to some future update to SAFe 4.0).
You can download the presentation below. And special thanks to Inbar for creating this new deck!
Download Essential SAFe PPTAlso, and FYI, I’ve created a new blog category for Essential SAFe, which should help tie together this important work in process.
Stay SAFe!

Thank you Dean! It was great to hear from you in person at the Northwestern Mutual event. I am also interested in being part of your RTE beta offering.
Dean Leffingwell
Thanks Shabana,
If you’d like to participate in the upcoming RTE alpha class, contact support@Scaledagile.com with a subject line of SAFe RTE Alpha January 10-12th.

Dean, great message in your presentation. I present a similar Essentials talk last night at Houston’s Agile Leadership Network. It too was well received as many folks are very interested in MVP or “just enough keystone habits” to implement SAFe to get initial learning before further evolution. This new Essentials thread will be valuable to our community. Thanks!
Dean Leffingwell
Thanks Scott, agree that Essential SAFe fills a need and will have legs.

Thank you Dean for your time and your perspective on several topics. Your presentation provoked great thought and conversation amongst my fellow team members in how we are operating within the framework, and of course, how we can improve! One question… How can I acquire more information on being a part of your first RTE Training?
Dean Leffingwell
Hi Damnian,
I’ve forwarded your email address to the team, so they can make sure you are invited to the first RTE training.
Sarah Scott
Thank you Dean for joining us at Northwestern Mutual. It was an educational day filled with wonderful stories and thoughts to ponder.
Dean Leffingwell
Thanks to you guys for the real leadership you are showing to the industry!
